DESCRIPTION: Tillandsia chiapensis is a captivating air plant species native to the Chiapas region of Mexico. This particular Tillandsia species stands out with its distinctive appearance and unique growth habit, making it a sought-after addition to any plant collection. This is the largest form of Chiapensis, getting to 1.5ft or larger.
Tillandsia chiapensis features long, thin, and gracefully arching leaves that can range in color from vibrant green to various shades of silver or gray. The leaves are covered in fine trichomes, which give them a fuzzy or velvety texture, enhancing their visual appeal. The plant's overall form is compact and symmetrical, making it an aesthetically pleasing choice for displays.
These are old specimen and are expected to have some algae and imperfections at the base of the plant. There is often brown color at the base as well that is commonly confused for rot or something of the sort, but this is normal to see on this plant.
