DESCRIPTION: This is the red form of neglecta - as you can see in the photos, it produces a reddish, almost maroon color blush. The brighter the light this is kept in, the deeper the color will get.
Neglecta is an awesome species that is great for your smaller displays. They also have a serious pupping habit, creating upward of 12+ pups off each plant. Most of these will have lots of offsets already growing on them.
Tillandsia neglecta is native to Ecuador. It is primarily found in the Andean region of the country, growing in cloud forests at elevations between 1,500 and 3,000 meters (4,900 to 9,800 feet) above sea level.
