DESCRIPTION: Tillandsia polystachia is native to Central America, the West Indies, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela. This species was described by Carl Linnaeus in 1762. Polystachia leaves have a very unique feel to them - almost papery to the touch. You will notice some spotting on this plant but do not fear…it is a natural spotting that occurs when the plants leaves turn from green to purple.
