DESCRIPTION: Ionantha Zebrina is a cultivar of Ionantha in the genus Tillandsia. The Zebrina variety is known for its subtle banding on its leaves. The ionantha species is native to Central America and Mexico. Tillandsia ionantha was described by Jules Emile Planchon and published in Flore des Serres et des Jardins de l'Europe between 1854 - 1855. In nature, Tillandsia ionantha has been found growing in both xeric and mesic tropical habitats. This makes the species very beginner friendly as it tolerates a wide range of light and watering routines.
