DESCRIPTION: Juncea is native to northern South America (Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, eastern Brazil), Central America, Mexico and the West indies (Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Trinidad). They grow epiphytically in large clumps and come from tropical forested areas which receive high amounts of precipitation during the rainy season. Because of this, Juncea like to receive higher amounts of water than other air plants. It is IMPERATIVE that these get good airflow. Juncea are sensitive to rot, so its base cannot be enclosed while wet. After watering, let the plant dry for several hours before returning to display.

SPECIAL NOTE: This plant is brown at the base and has a dry feeling to its leaves. This is natural for the plant and does not indicate any sign of distress or lack of health.
