DESCRIPTION: Magnusiana is a species in the genus Tillandsia. This species is native to southern and western Mexico (Jalisco, Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas), El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras. It was first described by Marx Carl Ludwig Ludewig Wittmack in 1889. Magnusiana form a red inflorescence that is spherical with a pointed end. The floral bracts of this air plant are large and the flowers are tubular and nonfragrant. Tillandsia magnusiana can be grown suspended, or mounted on a solid substrate that does not retain water.
