Tillandsia stricta is a species of air plant, also known as a bromeliad, that is native to Central and South America. The Emerald Forest variety is known for its large growing size and open shape. We have had these grow up to 12 inches in across; this is quite large by stricta standards. The plant produces a tall, pink inflorescence that can reach up to 4 inches in length, with small, purple flowers that bloom in succession along the stem. Tillandsia stricta is a popular plant for terrariums, as it requires very little care and can thrive in a variety of lighting conditions.
